Why Bare Root Trees?

We sell bare root fruit trees each spring season in Saint George, Utah. Only a couple times have I had potential customers be skeptical of the quality of bare root trees. When in truth, they’re much better and much heartier than potbound fruit trees.

Faster Growth & Establishment

Bare root trees establish faster because they are planted during dormancy in spring time. Their roots create a stronger network in the soil and tend to acclimate quicker to their new environment compared to potted trees.

Healthier Root Systems

Bare root trees are grown in fields and have healthier, heartier roots compared to potted trees. This leads to greater long-term growth and survival. Potbound trees tend to have restricted growth when they are young and can suffer from transplant shock when they are finally planted in the ground.

Lower Carbon Footprint

Bare root trees are much less expensive than container trees. They require less material and less maintenance during the growing process and are more cost-effective to ship.
