Central leader - the main trunk that grows upright in the center of your tree

Scaffold Branch - A major limb of a tree that forms the trees framework

and canopy

Secondary Scaffold - a side branch that grows from a tree’s scaffold branch

Sucker - bushy clumps of young stems that sprout from the trunk of your tree

Trunk - The main wood axis or stem of a tree

Bud Union - the point where the rootstock and fruiting section of a tree are grafted together
