Our History

Rick & Kerry Booth originally founded Booth Orchards in 1985 just outside of Ephrata, Washington. What started as a conventional apple orchard evolved into an 80 acre organic apple an cherry orchard.

Rick & Kerry both grew up in Southern Idaho and always thought they'd end up back there after college. In an unlikely turn of events, Rick was offered a job in Central Washington after graduating college, so they moved with their four month old twins to the small town of Quincy, Washington in 1978. A couple years later, Rick started working at Willow Drive Nursery in Ephrata and fell in love with fruit farming.

Rick and Kerry operated their farm with the help of their five children. The Booth family motto was "Work Hard - Play Hard". The orchard began as a conventional apple orchard and evolved into an 80 acre organic apple and cherry orchard. Their methods of fruit orchard management were top of the line and their fruit sold all over the United States. They were even featured as organic growers in Whole Foods Market for a time. After their children were grown and gone, Rick and Kerry received an opportunity to sell their orchard and retire in 2012. They eventually moved to Southern Utah in 2015.

Well, retirement didn't last very long. Rick now operates a small hobby orchard on his property in Southern Utah that includes cherries, apples, peaches, and much more. He also offers his expertise and to his daughter Marissa who sells nursery fruit trees each spring. Along with selling nursery trees, they plan to partner and begin selling organic fruit locally in 2025.
